PEMANFAATAN TEMPAT PEMBAKARAN SAMPAH DENGAN METODE FILTERISASI ASAP SEBAGAI UPAYA PENGURANGAN POLUSI UDARA

Improper waste management, such as burning waste directly without a filter, produces toxic fumes that pollute the air and endanger public health. Smoke from household and small industrial combustion contains harmful particles such as carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, and PM2.5 particles that can harm human health. This study aims to design and test simple smoke filtering media made of activated charcoal, coconut coir, pebbles, and gasfull as an effort to reduce air pollution. The research method used an experimental approach by measuring the difference in color and intensity of smoke before and after filtration visually and with a simple sensor device. The results showed that this tool was able to significantly reduce smoke turbidity. This media is considered effective, cheap, and can be applied at the household level.
