Abstract

This study aims to examine public perception of handicraft products in the form of keychains and hairpins produced by residents of Pancalaksana Village, Curug District. The research background is based on the potential of local handicrafts that are not optimal in improving people's welfare, even though they have cultural value and market opportunities. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach, through in-depth interviews and participatory observation of local consumers and local MSME actors. The results of the study show that public perception is influenced by design factors, quality, price, and aesthetic value of products. The public considers the product to be unique, but there is still a need for improvement in the aspect of design variation and marketing strategies. Service activities in the form of handicraft training have also been proven to improve children's skills and build awareness of the economic value of local products. This research has implications for the development of creative MSMEs based on local culture.
