Abstract

Community service activities in Bojen Village, Pandeglang Regency, identified crucial challenges in public services and environmental management. Administrative processes at the village office and the local junior high school were still manual, leading to inefficiency and potential disciplinary issues, while market waste management through open burning caused air pollution. To address these problems, four technology-based programs were implemented: a digital attendance system with face recognition and geolocation, a digital platform for letter services, an online New Student Admission (PPDB) system, and the construction of a mini-incinerator as an appropriate technology. The results showed the successful implementation of two operational web platforms, the development of one attendance system hindered by hosting resource limitations, and the completion of one physical incinerator unit. This study concludes that while technological interventions show significant potential in modernizing rural services, their long-term sustainability heavily depends on institutional readiness to address challenges such as budget allocation, digital literacy improvement, and managing unforeseen safety and environmental risks from the application of appropriate technology.
